  • Contrary to popular belief, satin and silk are not the same thing. A fabric made from silk can be satin, but satin does not automatically mean silk. Satin is not an actual material, but a way of weaving a fabric. Its characteristic smooth and shiny surface is created by a special weaving technique, in which the threads run across the surface of the fabric in a way that reflects light and makes it feel soft. Satin can be made from a variety of materials, such as polyester, nylon, viscose or silk. Silk is a natural fiber obtained from the cocoon of the silkworm. It is one of the most prestigious and luxurious textiles in the world, and has been used for centuries, especially in clothing and bedding. Unlike synthetic materials such as polyester, silk is naturally breathable, hypoallergenic and exceptionally pleasant to the skin. Its unique natural properties make silk an excellent choice for supporting hair well-being.
